A charming Victorian Aesthetic Movement folding campaign chair attributed to the designer / architect Edward W Godwin.

The frame folds via a scissor/campaign mechanism down to graceful sabre rear legs. The replacement hand-woven cane seat panel is in good condition.

As is typical with lightweight 19th-century folding furniture, it's perfectly fine for occasional seating, though we recommend it primarily as a decorative feature. The seat rails feature historic tack marks/holes around the inner border from a previous upholstered pad - very common for these Victorian campaign chairs over their long lives!
