A small late 17th century English oak chest of drawers with lovely rich colour and patina.
Antique Oak Chest of Drawers
This very handsome 17th century English antique chest has a rectangular moulded top, over an arrangement of drawers - two short over three long. With later Georgian pierced brass handles, and ornate brass escutcheons this is a really attractive compact unit.
This is an interesting compact piece that will suit any period or modern home. This chest sits upon bracket feet which have been adapted along with the later escutcheons. Such alterations are common in really old pieces of furniture such as this, forming part of their history as they were adapted as fashions changed.
This chest is full of character and the deep colour of the aged oak is simply wonderful. The condition overall is very good, with general expected signs of use consistent with age. Original finish to the wood.
Delivered cleaned, waxed and ready to place in the home.
