Lovely Georgian side table of simple form and made from well figured mahogany. Dated early 19th Century.
George III Mahogany Lowboy
In an excellent antique condition with a lovely rich colour this Georgian lowboy or side table would be perfect for a hallway. This piece dates between 1760 and 1820 so wear is commensurate with use - historic surface wear and marks to the top add to the character and history of the table. Full restoration would add considerably to the price.
There are two short drawers over one long - each cockbeaded (some minor losses to the short drawers) and mounted with the original brass handles. All drawers run freely.
The table stands on four square legs typical of the Georgian period - with moulded edges and chamfered inner corners. Overall it has excellent proportions and is solid of joint and stands level.
A lovely honest piece full of Georgian charm. Delivered cleaned, waxed and ready to place in the home.
