This handsome Georgian chest is of compact size with perfect proportions. It retains its original brass oval backplate handles with super conch shell design and decorative ivory escutcheons.
Original key and working locks to each drawer is a delightful bonus and something of a rarity given the age of this piece.
All drawers - two short over two long - run smoothly and are dovetail constructed with oak linings running front to back - a sign of superior quality and craftsmanship.
This chest displays well with a wonderful colour and patination. Its compact dimensions make it a versatile and handsome addition to any home. Dated 1760-1810.
