Georgian Oak Tilt Top Tripod Table
Superb Georgian antique side table displaying a lovely aged oak grain. This table has real country house charm.
Good quality Georgian oak tilt top occasional table having solid oak top with plain edge over turned "gun barrel" shaped pedestal leading to tripod base with outswept legs terminating in pad feet. The top is constructed of three pieces of solid oak. The tilt top table has a working hinge and brass locking mechanism, which fixes the table into place when horizontal. Traditionally hand crafted using pegged construction.
If space is at a premium the table can be tilted to its upright position; but at 55cm diameter this is a great all round table suitable for use as a lamp table, side or wine table or perfect between two chairs as a small supper table.
Very good antique condition - tilt top mechanism works well, solid of joint and no historic signs of woodworm. Wear commensurate with age and use - given 200+ year age there are signs of use to the table top but this simply adds to sense of history. The pedestal column and tripod feet are in excellent condition.
Delivered cleaned, lightly polished and ready to place in the home.
