A matched pair of beautifully decorative simulated bamboo Regency occasional chairs with cane seating.
During the Regency period, it was popular to emulate eastern influences, such as faux bamboo furniture, which satisfied a desire for the exotic. Today the worn original paintwork of these fabulous antique chairs adds a touch of faded glamour - these would be perfect in a bedroom or bathroom.
Both chairs are in a very good antique condition. The cane seats are all intact and fit for purpose. The chair frames are free of any historic damage or repairs and strong of joint with no wobbles.
