Mid-century Nude Study in Pastels by Wahlberg
A really lovely study of a seated nude in wonderfully expressive pastels delivering tone and texture to the subject. The use of blue tones over charcoal with the added hint of cadmium red creates a depth to this fabulous Swedish artwork. Signed by the artist to the bottom left.
This artwork is presented in the original wooden frame and mount behind glass. Not examined out of the frame. Good overall condition commensurate with age.
About the artist - Bertil Wahlberg:
Wahlberg was born 1st March 1923 and died 24th November 1980. He was a pupil of the another very well known Swedish artist, Isaac Grunewald in the 1940's. Wahlberg studied abroad in France and Italy.
A listed artist, Wahlberg's paintings are represented in many well known museum collections including the National Museum and the Moderna Museet Stockholm.
