A superb three tier rosewood etagere or whatnot, raised on turned supports topped with finials. Dated c. 1860-1870.
Victorian Three Tier Rosewood Etagere or Whatnot
Beautiful and very useful with elegant proportions; this stunning rosewood Victorian whatnot would look great in any room.
The overall quality & craftsmanship is excellent.
This three tier etagere is in a very good antique condition with a fabulous colour and patina to the rosewood. Raised on turned supports topped with finials and a fret carved upstand to the back of the top tier (please note that the side galleries have been removed historically - see photos of top tier for details). The turned legs finish on brass cups and ceramic castors (please note we have replaced the original castors as they were broken).
The tier shelving is nicely spaced allowing plenty of height for storage (33cm between tier 1 and 2; 37cm between tier 2 and 3).
All in original condition with the exception of the castors and cups which have been replaced with matching heritage brass and ceramic replicas.
An elegant, nicely shaped whatnot; delivered cleaned, waxed and ready for the home.
