A charming pair of antique fox-hunting oil paintings, signed and dated 1910 by British sporting artist Philip Henry Rideout.
Pair of 1910 Fox Hunting Paintings | Antique Sporting Art
These lively equestrian scenes capture the atmosphere of traditional English hunting with riders in classic hunt attire, hounds, and carriages set against the countryside.
Each piece comprises of oil on panel housed in the original ornate wooden frame. In good antique condition. One panel has a slight pressure dent top centre (in the sky area) though this isn't especially noticeable and does not detract from the overall impact of the pair.
Rideout was known for his sporting and coaching scenes, and works like these reflect the elegance of Edwardian country life and equestrian tradition.
Displayed together as a companion pair, these paintings make wonderful antique wall art for a study, library, or country house interior, adding heritage, movement, and character to a room.
