Pair of George III Elm and Mahogany Side Chairs
These George III side chairs feature a bowed elm bar back top rail, decoratively shaped horizontal splat, curved solid mahogany seat, shaped apron, raised on turned, tapering elm front legs and splayed rear elm legs.
Lovely proportions throughout with a great colour gained through careful use over time. A real pair of 19th century gems, so original and extremely useful.
They would look super in a variety of rooms from the hallway to the kitchen.
Note: These chairs are in good original condition with old use knocks/ marks to the leading edges, seat, frame and legs as to be expected given their age. There is evidence of historical woodworm to the chair frames and legs however it has been thoroughly treated for good measure. Please note, antique furniture of this age and in particular antique furniture constructed of elm was susceptible to traces of woodworm, as it was a softer timber. The chairs are solid in joint, no wobbles and ready to use.
