Swedish Oil Painting "Windmills" by STIG JONZON

A bold landscape scene, strong form with moody greys and greens. Signed and dated 1950 lower left.

Excellent condition, complete with the original gilt and hessian lined frame.

BIO: Stig Jonzon was a student of the famous painter Ivan Hoflund in Sweden between 1931-32. His paintings have been displayed in numerous galleries and art exhibitions in Sweden over the years. He also participated in exhibitions in Lyon and Paris during the early 1950s. In 1952 he received the award “Mention Honorable” at an exhibition in Paris.

His paintings are represented in the collections of King Carl XVI Gustav (Monarch of Sweden) amongst others.
