Late Victorian carved oak, single frieze drawer side table in wonderful original condition. Lovely aged patina. A quality piece. Dated c. 1890 - 1900.
Victorian Carved Oak Console Table
A fabulous example of late Victorian craftsmanship. This antique oak table features hand carving to the table top, single frieze drawer and apron; and is raised on turned legs.
In good antique condition throughout with some signs of wear commensurate with age and use; but this simply adds to the character and history of the piece. The carved gallery back has been removed at some stage as you can see the small holes where this would have rested - please see photos. This loss does not affect either the use or beauty of this piece.
Minor surface wear in places including some scratch marks to the top (pictured) which we have left as barely noticeable and we prefer to leave pieces in their original condition rather than sand back which would result in the loss of the age related patina. Structurally solid and sound.
This gorgeous table would look fabulous in a hallway or sitting room to add some country living charm.
Delivered lightly cleaned and polished; ready to be placed in the home.
