Victorian Fan Back Hall Chair

A Victorian Fan Back Chair in a striking deep red fabric - super compact proportions yet a real statement piece.  Traditionally this antique side chair would have been placed in a hall; but it would make a stunning occasional chair in the bedroom, living room, library or snug. 

The mahogany show frame is beautifully moulded around the lovely shaped back and along the serpentine front rail; all standing on shaped cabriole legs to the front and outswept back legs.

Upholstered in a deep rich wine-red velour plush fabric, which is in a very good, clean, used condition; all edged with a toned braiding.

Wear is commensurate with age and use for an antique of this period - 19th Century, Victorian. There is an historic repair to the rear right leg; but it is solid and well done.  The mahogany frame is in good order with no damage - just the expected scuffs and knocks from many years of use.  The fabric is in a good clean condition - signs of wear as to be expected; but no worn sections / fraying / tears.

Delivered with the frame lightly polished and the upholstery brushed - ready to place in the home.
